Arsenal vs Aston Villa - Preview

As the start of the premier league season approaches, Arsenal's squad sheet looks worryingly empty. With only 11 fit players Arsene Wenger might have to call upon the likes of Nicklas Bendter in this weekends home match against Aston Villa.

Team News

Instrumental midfielder Mikel Arteta is out (thigh), although injury doubt Theo Walcott (knee) is fit to play. Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey was also a doubt as he missed a midweek international with an ankle concern but he too should be fit to feature for the Gunners. Santi Cazorla has just returned from an International in Ecuador and will be fatigued. Although, Cazorla has returned from an overseas international days before a game and achieved a man of the match award.

Aston Villa's squad list is somewhat more plentiful  than the gunners. Albeit, they are without midfield duo Yacouba Sylla (ankle) and Chris Herd (calf).

Odds

Arsenal      - 2/5
Draw          - 4/1
Aston Villa - 8/1
